My take on the Sherlock Holmes books

She'd missed the flinch, and some of the other more subtle body language things. but the words and the way he spoke - that was obvious enough for her to pick up on. Best guess was either they were gone, or might as well be, and probably for the best not to dig further on that topic and risk touching that nerve again.

"Understandable on the pet thing. If you really need animal therapy time, there is always cat cafes, or friends like me who have pets" Ruby commented with a small nod, despite working there she was IT and didn't have to travel too much for her job at least so far, so keeping her apartment and her cat was less of an issue.

"Favourite place you've been in your travels?" She asked figuring this topic was probably easier to answer

He grins, listening intently. He liked how easy this felt. He couldn't remember the last time he connected with someone that wasn't about work. Something genuine. Even if it was just surface level talking.

When she asked him about his personal life, however he tensed. A quick flinch. Barely noticeable, but there on the edges of his mouth that retained a smile but somewhat faltered. His eyes travel away from her face and off into the distance, as if trying to pull a very distant memory. "I-I " He manages a light chuckle but it's stiff. "No. No family. And I love animals but they wouldn't last in my care I'm afraid. I travel too much." He runs a hand through his hair and clears his throat.

This might seem like an "old man yells at cloud" situation, but it's just wild growing up and being told how dangerous distracted driving is - how, at highway speeds, you can traverse the length of a football field (100 yards, 91 meters) in a matter of seconds - how one split second sending a text while driving could result in a potential fatal crash, and then getting on the road as a driver and being surrounded by billboards. Their entire purpose is to catch one's attention, so they're lining major roads, which tend to be highways. How is it that you're told how important it is to never be distracted while driving, but still being advertised to?

At best, this type of advertising is an eyesore to pedestrians and motorists and a general waste of electricity to light it, and at worst, it is an active danger considering they are there to advertise and therefore, must catch people's attention.

I'm not even against advertising in theory, but this particular mode bothers me so much and I hate how pervasive it is - especially in large cities or highways.

A Linked Universe meets The Dark Crystal AU! I don't even remember what started it at this point. I remembered that the Dark Crystal and Age of Resistance are things I like, blinked, and woke up three days later with an AU and a bunch of art.

The designs and the story are a wip and for fun so expect a lot of variation! (I have a few different beginnings, ideas for different designs, etc)! :D
